God’s promises to Egypt

I read a Bible Lesson every day that helps bring inspiration to me.  I couldn’t help but notice this wonderful comforting message regarding God’s children in Egypt in this week’s Bible Lesson titled “Soul.”  From different parts of chapter 32 in Jeremiah, the prophet says this —

“Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Great in counsel, and mighty in work: Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day; Therefore thus saith the Lord; I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.”

Egypt was a might country in Biblical times too and did many great things.  We can remember that God is the power in Egypt.  God is keeping everyone safe.  These are his people and God who is all good is the only real power.  Therefore only good is governing our Egyptian brothers and sisters and not evil.

Remember when the Berlin wall came down?  It was a huge change and yet it was peaceful.  Why can’t we expect change to happen in Egypt in a similar way?

The Egyptians have really shown the world what a good spirit they have and we can pray that their spirit of brotherhood coming from the power of the universe, Love (or God), will sustain them and lead them in the right direction in the coming days and weeks.

God is truly with them.
